This is some of the ad campaigns for the 1980 Baja 1000 Race
The 1980 baja 1000 was the first baja for the 250R. There was no class for them to run in so they ran just about half the course. Only one finished; but here is the thing, these were the first two pre-production 250R's. This was a test to see if they were ready for production. Mr.Honda always wanted reliability first. If they did not finish the race they would not have been released for mass production
