1985 350X AATVA Wiseco National Championship

Ad Campaign For the 350x held in Tennessee!
Honda's Biggest production 3wheeler the 350X was never meant to be a full on race trike. Honda learned from the 200 class when Kawasaki raced sleeved down 250 tecates and smoked the 200x's. Even Curtis Sparks couldn't catch the lighter quicker two strokes and besides Honda did have the ATC 500R awaiting production. It was just put on (permement) hold due to recent bad publicity in the press towards 3 wheelers. Never the less Honda wanted some race wins to advertise. So who better to send then Mark Weixeldorfer. "Wax" was Honda's workhorse. He was the one who tested and raced the Nick Nicholson ATC 500X. He helped design the first 250R's, raced in MX, flat track, desert, and along with Dean as their main test rider. How did "Wax" feel about racing the 350X? He wasn't to excited. After all he had to leave sunny Californa to go race in the mud of Tennessee on a unproven stock 4 stroke. So what did he do...he smoked em all so he could go home quicker and Honda never raced the 350X again.
